logical arguement?

Here's an example of how logic can be flawed.
Imagine one person is chasing another person. The chasing person is twice as quick as the person being chased. How long does it take for the chasing person to catch the chased person?
Answer: Never!
Logic: If the chasing person is 10 metres behind the chased person, then when the chasing person has run 10 metres the chased person has run 5 metres and so still 5 metres ahead. When the chasing person has run the next 5 metres, the chased person has run 2.5 metres and so is still 2.5 metres ahead. When the chasing person has run the next 2.5 metres the chased person has run 1.25 metres and so is still 1.25 metres ahead. Continue this logically and the chasing person can never catch the chased person.
So be careful next time you make a decision based on a logical arguement!

It's only logical if you don't understand physics. Quantum physicists have 'devined' now the smallest time-divideable size. The outcome isn't dependant on this however. You see, given that the time it takes to move down to the next smallest distance (from 10 metres to 5 to 2.5 etc) halves, so it becomes increasingy fast to traverse each distance, to the point where it's almost instantaneous (think the speed of light) to halve the distance from point one to point two. Once the smallest dividable particle is crossed - and it must happen - you're there!

Logical arguements only fail when one or more parties don't have the logic to comprehend the situation. This of course is a genuine problem when you're arguing (discussing) a scenario with someone and they just can't grasp the full logical extension or conclusion of a line of thought - eg. it seems that there are 10 dimentions in the universe, but as essentially four dimentional beings; height, width, length and time: humans can't really grasp more than four. It's always hard to understand more than we've experienced.

Your point is essentially correct - beware the logical argument, but I would say, only when your being out-thought by the other person!
